To implement the state policy in the sphere of migration and asylum, monitoring and control of migration processes in the interests of citizens and society, the Government of Moldova adopted a decision on establishing integrated information system "Migration and Asylum" (IIS MaA). This System integrates information resources of various ministries and departments responsible for migration and asylum, like Bureau of Migration, Department of Border Control, Police Comissariates and others.

IIS MaA become one of the main tools for managing and monitoring processes associated with passing the border by migrants, ensuring the control system of the country on its territory of foreign citizens and persons without citizenship, simplifying the registration and keeping records preventing illegal migration and human trafficking.
